Spiced breakfast grapefruit.

What the HECK is that? Chilli, rosemary & sugar on a GRAPEFRUIT? Have I gone mad? No - it's bloody gorgeous, trust me.  I know breakfast isn't the time of day that most of us want to be getting creative in the kitchen (turning the hob on sometimes baffles me, let's be honest), but this is simple. If you can cut  a grapefruit in half, then you're well on the road to success with this one. It's sweet, it's zingy and the chilli gives you a subtle pick-me-up, which is what breakfast is all about for me. If you can't face this at 7am, they do try it for brunch - I promise you'll be surprised at how well these flavours go together!

You don't like grapefruit? Here's a smoothie!

Spiced Breakfast Grapefruit


  • 1 pink grapefruit
  • 2 tsp sugar
  • 1/4 tsp chilli flakes
  • 1/4 tsp fresh rosemary, finely chopped


  1. Half the grapefruit
  2. Sprinkle over the sugar, chilli flakes and rosemary evenly over each half.
  3. Go back to bed.
